Singers and instrumentalists of all ages are invited to participate in two fun, concurrent workshops that are open to everyone; from beginners to advanced musicians. We ask that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult. Participants are invited to perform a song with the band at the end of the show
MZAZA Singing Workshop:
Join award-winning French-Australian singer Pauline Maudy in this uplifting vocal workshop for beginners and experienced singers. Pauline teaches French, Bulgarian, Greek, Spanish and Ladino songs and harmonies to singers of all levels of experience and quickly gets them to sing together with ease. For this workshop, she will teach you a French song from the 60s! Participants will be supported by accompanying instrumentalists and will have an opportunity to perform as part of the show.
MZAZA Instrumental workshop:
Learn a couple of Macedonian, Bulgarian or Turkish tunes with MZAZA. Get a feel for some of the unusual rhythms, ornaments and pitches of modal music and learn an easy French 60's pop song too. Bring your fiddle, guitar, ukulele, accordion, harmonica, hand percussion or any other instrument! This workshop is open to all levels and we provide sheet music, tabs and also cater to those who prefer to learn by ear. Participants will be invited to perform a song as part of the show.
Workshop Participants are offered 2x $30 tickets to The Birth and Death of Stars Show. A code will be sent after you register.
